One of America’s favorite dishes certainly is the American Corn Dog.
Whether you prefer it served hot or cold (doesn’t matter): there are millions of ways to make them and serve them. We’ve tried a few and decided to share these two recipes with you as they are very easy to make.
Well, it is basically a hotdog coated with cornflour. From there the name “corn+dog”.
For those that haven’t had the pleasure of eating one yet: A corn dog is a sausage on a stick that has been coated in a thick layer of cornmeal batter and then deep-fried. It originated in the United States and is a huge favorite at any festive celebration.
Course: main, snack
Cuisine: American
Servings: 12
Time: 20 minutes
Rating:
(Both recipes are for about 12 sausages. Use vegetable oil for frying.)
Make sure the sausages are pat dry with a hand towel and then skewer with long wooden skewers.
Mix together all the ingredients. Dip the sausages in the mixture and then directly to the hot frying pot/pan.
In a large pot/pan over medium heat – fry the corn dogs until golden.
Remove from oil and place on paper towel.
Tip: Pour the batter into a tall glass or decanter – it is easier to dip the sausages that way.
You can use any type of sausages like bratwurst, wiener, smoked, or cheese sausage.
