Very few stress relievers beat the magic of a beach sunset. Like in the incredibly beautiful beaches in the Puntarenas Province of Costa Rica.
The Puntarenas province is a fabulous holiday destination with an extensive list of things to do and see in and around the province. The province caters to solo travelers as well as family holidays. There is something for everyone!
The port city of Puntarenas is located on Costa Rica’s Gulf of Nicoya.
A cultural complex featuring a theater and an art gallery is called Casa de la Cultura.
April is the hottest month with an average of 24°C, and it can go as high as 28°C. It seldom gets below the twenties, but if you’re looking for dry warm weather, you’d want to avoid going during September (the wettest month). February can be quite windy (26km/h average wind speed).
Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, also known as Manuel Antonio National Park
One of Puntarenas Province’s jewels is Manuel Antonio. The Manuel Antonio National Park is a must-see. The park receives the most visitors of all parks in Costa Rica. There are three relatively easy hiking trails through the park and the park has a limit of 600 visitors per day. So best you go early to avoid being turned away.
And if you’re after beach life, Playa Manuel Antonia is probably the most stunning beach ever, followed by Playa Espadilla which is popular amongst surfers. If you’re into snorkeling, Playa Biesanz is the ideal spot. The scenic Manuel Antonia Beach (above) lies within the national park.
There are hundred-plus choices of hotels, apartments, hostels, BNBs, and more. However, when it comes to booking the ultimate holiday with a sea view, you cannot go wrong by checking in at Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort*****. It’s located a stone’s throw away from the city center and has WIFI, a spa, and a gym. Furthermore, it has all the standard trimmings such as a restaurant, concierge service, laundry service, parking, and plenty more.
A beautiful beach known for sportfishing and surfing lies in the seaside town of Jacó, namely Jaco Beach. It’s only two hours from San Jose, which makes it a very popular summer holiday destination. More so with the palm trees lined up on the beachfront – so pretty!
