Travel Quote: “Wanderlust isn’t about running away from it all. It’s about experiencing the outside to discover the inside.” – Unknown
This quote about wanderlust is a really interesting one, because it reminds us that traveling and experiencing new things is not about escaping from our problems or our lives, but rather about discovering new parts of ourselves.
In everyday life, it can be easy to get stuck in routines and habits that don’t challenge us or push us out of our comfort zones. But when we travel or explore new places, we’re forced to confront new challenges and adapt to unfamiliar situations. This can be scary at first, but ultimately it’s incredibly rewarding.
When we experience the outside world – whether that’s by traveling to a new country, trying a new activity, or simply going for a walk in nature – we open ourselves up to new perspectives and possibilities. We may discover things about ourselves that we never knew before – our strengths, our weaknesses, our passions, and our fears.
And when we come back from these experiences, we bring that new knowledge and self-awareness back into our everyday lives. We may be more confident, more open-minded, or more grateful for the things we have.
So, whether you’re planning a big trip or just trying something new in your hometown, remember that it’s not about running away from your problems or your life. It’s about discovering new parts of yourself and gaining a deeper understanding of who you are and what’s important to you.
Travel Quote: If ever I’ve seen magic, it has been in Africa. -John Hemingway, the American Author.
No wonder so many movies are filmed in Africa. It is a continent that gets into your blood, unknowingly. Once you’ve been, you want to go back repeatedly. I think of movies such as Out of Africa (filmed in South Africa), I Dreamed of Africa, Invictus, Blood Diamond, Lord of War, The Lion of Africa (adventure), and so many more blockbuster films.
Travel Quote: One of the great things about travel is that you find out how many good, kind people there are. -Edith Wharton
In our day-to-day routines, it can be easy to get caught up in our own little world and forget about the goodness and kindness that exists in others. But when we travel, we have the opportunity to see firsthand how many good, kind people there are in the world.
When we travel, we’re often in unfamiliar places, and we may need help or guidance from locals. In these situations, we often find that people are more than happy to lend a helping hand, even if they don’t know us. This kindness can be a reminder that there are good people out there who are willing to help others without expecting anything in return.
Travel can also expose us to different cultures and ways of life, which can be eye-opening and inspiring. Meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their experiences can deepen our understanding and appreciation of the world and the people in it.
But the thing is, we don’t have to travel to experience kindness and goodness in everyday life. We can find it in our own communities by reaching out to others, volunteering, or simply being kind to those around us.
So, let’s take a moment to appreciate the good, kind people in our lives and in the world around us. And if we ever feel like we’re losing sight of that, we can always plan a trip to a new destination to be reminded of the beauty of humanity.
Travel Quote: The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. – Marcel Proust
Antarctica is on many of our bucket lists, but it’s not always practical or possible to travel that far to discover new landscapes. We can also look around the immediate region we live in and compile a bucket list of things to explore locally. It’s a more budget-friendly holiday and sometimes a lot less stress-free because planning the trip is so much easier, being local.
Travel Quote: “The best things in life are the people we love, the places we’ve been, and the memories we’ve made along the way.” – Unknown
When we spend time with the people we love, whether it’s family, friends, or a significant other, we create memories that we’ll cherish for a lifetime. We laugh, we share stories, and we connect on a deeper level. These experiences can be a source of comfort and support when we’re going through tough times.
Similarly, the places we’ve been can shape us in profound ways. Whether it’s a hometown, a favorite vacation spot, or a new city we’ve explored, each place has its own unique character and charm that can leave a lasting impression on us. These places can become a part of who we are and remind us of the experiences we’ve had and the people we’ve met along the way.
And of course, the memories we’ve made are what tie everything together. Whether it’s a special moment with a loved one or a shared experience with friends, these memories are what make life rich and meaningful. They’re the stories we tell and the moments we look back on with fondness and nostalgia.
Therefore, in everyday life, it’s important to remember to cherish the people we love, to seek out new places to explore and experience, and to make memories that we’ll treasure for years to come. After all, as the quote says, these are truly the best things in life.
Travel Quote: When someone says you can’t do it, do it twice and take pictures. – Unknown
I love this quote for the reason of exactly what advice it gives. There is no greater joy than traveling somewhere when you were told it will never be possible. And yes, then those beautiful photos follow, a personal moment of sheer joy to be able to say “I’ve done it. I’ve been to…”. Another bucket list destination fulfilled.
Travel Quote: Traveling in the company of those we love, is home in motion. – Unknown
To travel alone has its downside, and that is not being able to share something at the moment, right there and then when it happens. And for that reason, this quote is also great advice. Whether it is your friends or family, being surrounded by those you love turns a holiday into the best holiday. With fabulous memories for years to come!
Travel Quote: Once a year, go somewhere you have never been before. – Dalai Lama
We live in such unusual times and everything happens so fast, yet so slow. The COVID-19 pandemic is a perfect example of how fast things happened. The pandemic reached unimaginable proportions. But it feels the recovery period takes forever. This is taxing and stressful.
Or it could be a career, or taking care of loved ones, that add to your stress levels and impact negatively on your health. Those necessary evils can be relieved with a vacation to a new destination. Something that will take your mind off the stress factors. And for that reason Dalai Lama’s advice is great, because, in addition, you also have amazing memories to feed on until your next new holiday destination.
Travel Quote: You don’t have to plan every minute. Take a breath. Trust. Let Go. And see what happens. – Unknown
As much as I love planning a trip to the actual hour (not quite minute) I thought to try the advice. And so I did. I knew where I was heading, and I had my first overnight accommodation reserved. From there, it was a surprise. I got up in the morning, decided if I should stay or move on, and act accordingly. It was a much more relaxed holiday but not to be recommended if you don’t like surprises. Because every day was a surprise! I loved it so much, that I tried it not only in South Africa but also in France.
Traveling with friends is an incredible experience that can bring people closer together. When you’re out exploring new places, trying new things, and getting out of your comfort zone, it creates a special bond that can be hard to replicate in everyday life.
Think about it – when you’re traveling with friends, you’re relying on each other for support, navigation, and a good time. You’re making memories together that will last a lifetime, and you’re experiencing new things that you can reminisce about for years to come.
This bond extends beyond just the time you spend traveling together. It can carry over into your everyday life, making your friendships stronger and more meaningful. You’ll have inside jokes, shared experiences, and a deep understanding of each other that can only come from traveling together.
But the thing is, you don’t have to go on a big adventure to create this bond. Even just doing something new or different with your friends can create a similar feeling. Whether it’s trying a new restaurant, going to a concert, or taking a dance class, doing something outside of your usual routine can create a shared experience that brings you closer together.
So, if you’re looking to strengthen your friendships or create new ones, consider doing something a little out of the ordinary. Who knows, you might just create an unspoken bond that will last a lifetime.
Some places or countries to visit that are perfect for creating the unspoken bond that Kristen Sarah talked about, are:
Of course, there are many other amazing places to visit that are perfect for creating the unspoken bond that Kristen Sarah talked about. THE DICTIONARY CHALLENGE
We’ve (Travel-and-Home) coined the word “tuotes”, meaning travel quotes.
Tuotes are used to refer to travel quotes such as we’ve published today. And for that matter, all sorts of travel quotes, like funny travel quotes, motivational travel quotes, inspirational travel quotes, general travel quotes, and so on…
Well, for starters it’s great fun, and secondly, it aptly describes travel quotes in just one single word! Short, to the point, catchy, and smart.
The more the word is used, the more attention it will attract from lexicographers (the people who write and edit the dictionary).
So, why not start a word-tsunami by using “tuotes” instead of travel quotes, when you quote travel phrases from famous and inspiring people!?
And by doing so, you are part of getting a brand-new word into the dictionary. A new legacy that you’re leaving behind!
Hurray! Be the first to spot the use of the new word, tuotes, elsewhere on the internet. Share your discovery – tell us where you saw it being used – and so more people will join in our word-tsunami!
We love chatting about and sharing our experiences. That said, we also love hearing your version. In return, it again helps other travelers to make up their minds as to what to do, where to stay, and so on. And so they have more ideas for their next trip. All thanks to your feedback in addition to ours.
